Anti Wrinkle Injections

Free Consultation
My overall aim from the consultation appointment is to have an in-depth discussion about what you would like from treatment, to discuss associated risks and to nurture a relationship based on trust and understanding. I will listen to your goals, take on board your ideas and guide you. I may guide you away from some treatments and towards others but never based on price.

Why Choose Dr Philippa?
As a registered Dentist, I can directly prescribe for my patients and do not have to outsource to a separate prescriber like others. I will discuss your medical history to ensure that treatment is safe for each individual patient. Discussing your medical history allows me to tailor the aftercare advice as well as the pre and post treatment advice. Patients undergoing anti wrinkle injections must meet their prescriber in order for the prescriber to verify that it is safe for the patient to have treatment. Remote prescribing for anti wrinkle injections is banned under the NMC, GMC and GDC and absolutely should not be considered as an alternative to a face to face consultation.
It is vital to do thorough research and choose a reputable provider like myself to ensure that you receive the highest standard of treatment. Your well-being, safety and satisfaction should always be the priority when seeking aesthetic procedures.

It is crucial to acknowledge that within the industry, there are businesses that may opt for inferior products and lack the required skills and training. While there are many reputable and trustworthy establishments not all businesses uphold the same standards. Unfortunately, some establishments may choose to use subpar products which are cheaper, compromising the efficacy and safety of their treatments. This can result in unsatisfactory outcomes and potential risks to the clients.

At Dr Philippa Johnson Aesthetics I prioritise quality and safety, using regulated products from reputable pharmacies.

Just for you
At my clinic, the specific brand of Botulinum Toxin Type A used is Botox®. Read the full medication leaflet here. However, alternative brands such as Azzalure® can be prescribed depending on the individual's needs. It's important to note that every patient requires a prescription for Botulinum Toxin Type A.

How long does it last?
Please note that the effects of this treatment gradually diminish over time, requiring periodic top-ups. However, with repeated sessions, the longevity of the results tends to increase. So, the more frequently you undergo the treatment, the longer the effects tend to last.
Treatment usually takes 3-5 days to take effect, relaxing the targeted muscles and smoothing out the wrinkles. The full effect can be seen at 14 days post administration. The results typically last between 3-4 months, influenced by your lifestyle and how your muscles respond to the product.
The treatment itself is relatively quick and is carried out using a very fine needle to minimise any discomfort when injecting.

If you decide to proceed with the treatment, a 50% deposit will be required to secure your treatment appointment.
