Dermal Fillers
As the skin ages, collagen production slows and the amount of collagen decreases. Collagen provides shape and support therefore without this we lose overall skin volume.
Dermal fillers are injectable gels used to restore or add volume to the face. Fillers vary in density (thickness), which determines the area they can be used in and what they’re designed for, whether that is to provide lift or contouring, create symmetry, fill in lines or deep folds, or enhance a particular feature such as the lips.
Dermal fillers are made from Hyaluronic Acid, a naturally occurring substance in the body. Hyaluronic acid can hold up to 1000 times its own weight in water making it an excellent hydrator, it integrates with the natural collagen of the body and lasts between 6-18 months.
I currently use Juvéderm and Restylane.
